The General

Battle preparation had already begun
When a general came
And saw that things were not
What they supposed to be

Immediately taking command
He righted what were wrong
And soon went on into briefing
For the morrow’s battle

The general watched
The general led
The general left

Another duty awaited him, perhaps
And it were left to us
To finish up
And clean the aftermath
